Action Alert:
Tell Virginia Venue to Cancel Ted Nugent After Violent Threat

On April 6, 2018, long-time NRA board member Ted Nugent was interviewed by Alex Jones on Infowars. Jones asked Nugent why the left wants to ban guns. Here is what Nugent told him in response:

“Just know that evil, dishonesty and scam artists have always been around and that right now they’re liberal, they’re Democrat, they’re RINOs, they’re Hollywood, they’re fake news, they’re media, they’re academia, and they’re half of our government, at least. So come to that realization. There are rabid coyotes running around, you don’t wait till you see one to go get your gun, keep your gun handy. And every time you see one, shoot one.”

Nugent’s threatening remarks drew immediate and universal criticism. They come just days after Nugent said the students who survived the Parkland shooting “have no soul” because they want better gun policies to keep firearms away from violent individuals.

Yet, after his violent threat, the venue Celebrate Virginia After Hours still has Nugent booked to appear for a  performance titled “The Music Made Me Do It” on July 14, 2018—purposely making light of the harmful impact of decades of his violent threats, racism, misogyny, anti-Semitism and anti-immigrant animus.

Please contact Celebrate Virginia After Hours through one of the channels below and give them the following message (personalized to your liking):

I cannot believe that Celebrate Virginia After Hours is planning to put Ted Nugent on-stage on July 14, 2018 under the banner “The Music Made Me Do It.” Threatening people’s lives can no longer be excused as “Ted being Ted.” This man just put a bull’s-eye on the backs of millions of Americans (half the country, by his reckoning) that disagree with him about gun policy. He knows the few people left who look up to him are armed and paranoid. He’s also put that bull’s eye on the backs of the Parkland students and other teenagers advocating for gun control. Cancel the Ted Nugent show immediately. If you go through with this, I will educate everyone I know about your venue and decision. I will also seriously consider attending the protest outside on July 14.
