Action Alert:
Thank Lockton for Breaking Ties with the NRA

On February 26, 2018, Lockton Companies LLC announced it would stop selling the NRA’s “Carry Guard” insurance.  The insurance is intended for shooters who want to claim self-defense. It provides coverage for criminal legal defense, firearm replacement, “clean-up costs” and payouts to bail companies. There’s even a 24-hour legal hotline to provide shooters with guidance on how to avoid prosecution.

The decision was significant. Lockton’s chairman, David Lockton, is a member of an elite club of individuals (the Golden Ring of Freedom) who have donated a million dollars or more to the NRA.

Now the NRA is suing Lockton for breach of contract, arguing they succumbed to pressure from gun control bullies. Lockton has a different story to tell, however, stating, “The NRA’s own overtly political and inflammatory approach” to marketing, “as well as its provocative public stances, have resulted in a shift in the enforcement priorities of insurance regulators and heightened scrutiny.”

Please contact Lockton chairman David Lockton and give him the following message:

Mr. Lockton, I want to thank you for Lockton Companies’ decision to stop selling the NRA’s “Carry Guard” insurance. It was the right thing to do, a moral act. No reputable firm would sell insurance to murderers trying to absolve themselves from totally unnecessary killings committed with firearms. I’ll be honest, Mr. Lockton. I am deeply disturbed by the fact that you have given more than $1 million to the NRA, a violent, white supremacist organization. I hope this recent decision by your company reflects a change of heart. There is so much good you could be doing with your wealth and influence, so much happiness you could bring to others. Rarely do we get second chances in life. Here’s yours. Please make the most of it. I never want to see Lockton working with the NRA again.
