Senator Chase: How dare you threaten us?

September 20 – State senator Amanda Chase of Virginia threateningly tweeted “I’m not afraid to shoot down gun groups.” She holds a gun in the accompanying picture, poised to shoot.

The ominous tweet continued:  “SIGN my petition to help end the assault on our liberties.”

The post is no longer on Twitter, but gun control activists and gun law reform groups are furious at her tweet.

Many see it as an incitement to violence.

Chase is also up for re-election and is campaigning to allow concealed weapons in schools and churches.

She is running against Amanda Pohl (D-Chesterfield), in a typically conservative district.

I am disgusted by your recent tweet threatening to shoot down gun groups.  How can a state senator where so many have died because of guns and outdated gun control laws be so tone deaf?  How dare you make this attempt to intimidate me from exercising my rights and to work towards keeping people alive?

You may have deleted your offensive tweet, but I promise you it is not forgotten. It will not be forgotten when it’s time for the election to replace you.   Your plan to allow concealed carry in schools and churches can only result in more senseless slaughter.  You made a ridiculous claim that having armed people in public places is like having an alarm system.  It is nothing of the kind.  We see time and time again how swiftly large numbers of people can be killed before even well-trained people can locate a shooter.  We have also seen how often a ‘good guy with a gun’ as you might say winds up shooting innocent people or being killed themselves when police arrive.  It is an unacceptable idea.

I will encourage every voter who has a say over your election to vote against you.
