Tyler Hubbard, a singer/songwriter in the popular country duo Florida Georgia LIne, released a video on the Billboard website on November 29, 2018 in which he endorsed the End Gun Violence Together campaign started by TOMS Shoes founder Blake Mycoskie.
“I just saw a statistic that said there were 307 mass shootings in the last 311 days in our country, which is terrifying and devastating,” Hubbard says at the start of the video. “I think we can all come together and all agree that something has to change. It’s unacceptable—we shouldn’t have to walk out of the house and live in fear anymore.”
Hubbard announced he is a gun owner who supports the End Gun Violence Together campaign. He asked his fans to go to the TOMS website to send a postcard to their U.S. Representative calling on them to pass universal background checks legislation. “It’s an easy thing that we can all do…to make this country a better place for our friends, our family and our kids,” Hubbard said.
Hubbard joins other gun-owning celebrities supporting the TOMS’ campaign, including Dierks Bentley, Joe Jonas and Ryan Seacrest.
